James, Wade, Bosh need more time to make decision

I'm not much into omens, but the events surrendering Dwyane Wade's return to Miami on Monday were curious to say the least, if not an indication of things to come. With Wade entertaining thoughts of jumping to the Bulls, the Miami Heat wanted to show its star player how much he's loved in South Florida. So when the team learned Wade would be arriving.

At Miami International Airport early Monday morning, it used Facebook and Twitter to quickly organize a crowd to welcome him home. About 50 fans and a number of Heat employees were in position at the charter-jet terminal at the time of Wade's arrival. Just one problem: Wade flew commercial and arrived at the other end of the airport.
''He'll hear that we were here,'' 20-year-old fan David Figueroa told the Associated Press. ''That's enough, right?'' Maybe. Later in the day, Wade was seen entering American Airlines Arena with Heat owner Micky Arison, who, no doubt, made a pitch for keeping his star player in Miami.
Last week, much of the free-agent talk concerned Wade possibly recruiting LeBron James and Chris Bosh to join him on South Beach. Now the Heat's focus is keeping Wade from joining his hometown team. Speaking of James, he made a public appearance at a Nike camp at the University of Akron on Monday. He worked out for two hours at the camp and even got in a couple of full-court games with fellow NBA star Chris Paul.
After icing both knees and his right elbow, James left Rhodes Arena and declined to speak with reporters. He has yet to make any statements since meeting with six teams, including the Bulls, since the start of free agency Thursday.
Originally, James had indicated to the teams meeting with him that he wanted to make a decision by Monday, but now the word is he won't announce anything until Wednesday night at the earliest.
Wade also doesn't appear to have made a decision. Henry Thomas, the agent for Wade and Bosh, said Monday that neither has made a decision and both are considering a number of factors.
''They want to feel like they have evaluated everything about each situation,'' Thomas said in an e-mail to the AP. ''It is fair to say that the decision for both has been harder than either imagined.''
The only certainty with any of the three aforementioned free agents is that Bosh in not returning to the Toronto Raptors. After that, it's nothing more than a guessing game.
Still, the longer it takes Wade and James to make a decision, the more likely it becomes that they'll stay put. That's just a feeling I have.
Both are intrigued by the possibilities of playing elsewhere and are seriously considering leaving. But the longer it takes to pull the trigger on a decision to go, the more the emotions of being loyal to their current teams will tug at their hearts.
So if you're a Bulls fans hoping to land Wade or James, you probably should be rooting for them to make a decision right now.
